I recently uninstalled NAV 2001 and installed NAV 2003 Professional. Everytime I open Wordpad or Kodak Imaging they crash. Sometimes Word will also crash. I am on a workgroup and if I open either program from a shared computer, Wordpad etc. crash. Virus scans show nothing. I also use a proxy server and firewall. I have searched this site and others by keyword but no real tips. Anyone have any ideas?

What is the error message you get when Word goes down?

Error message is,
Wordpad.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created. You can insert winword.exe, publisher, access, kodak, and powerpoint. Maybe others. I've given up looking.
It seems that notepad is the only stable program in that bunch.
I have reinstalled win2k and Office 2k. I also have reinstalled all the service packs for each. I'm now thinking about uninstalling NAV hack the registry for anything with Symantec or Norton and reinstall NAV. Any ideas? thx Don

Do you have the latest updates from Norton , it could be a virus thats crashing these applications.
You can run an online scan on symantec.com

Thanks for the reply. I have the latest vdb from Norton and have scanned numerous times. I have even run some of the virus specific detection tools.
If I share any of the programs that crash on my box from one of my other w2k boxes and open them on said computer those programs crash. They are fine on the other individual boxes. It must be something in the registry on this computer. Maybe my uninstall didn't uninstall everything or where it asks do you want to keep some of the shared stuff I said no and should have said yes. I realize now I have an uncommon problem. My latest thoughts are to just back up everything but the system state, wipe it and restore. I just hate to think I can't repair the os and detect and repair doesn't detect anything. If you have any other ideas I'm open for suggestion.
