Word97 Table of Contents, numberating restarts midst in DOC 1

After importing text of a document into another one by clipboard,
the numberating of the Style Headers is still separated.
I need a nummeration throughout the whole doc.
Do you have any idea?

Select the actual page number where the numbering starts over at 1. Hit Insert-Page number-Format and tell it to "continue from previous."

If that doesn't work, you'll have to give us more information about your page numbering, such as:

Are you using chapter numbers/are the page numbers based on the use of the Heading 1 or other heading style?

What is currently the exact page number of the last correctly numbered page?

What is currently the exact page number of the first wrongly numbered page?
