I'm troubleshooting a problem involving Word97 (Office97
Professional). When the user is typing a document and
listening to an audio cd, some of the words change font. Most
of the document appears normal but every once in a
while you see a line or two where the font appears to be "flat".
We haven't noticed that this occurs with any
particular cd, any thoughts???

Just a couple thoughts, Lady H., perhaps you've checked these:

Make sure there are no *.tmp or ~*.* files on the whole hard drive; clean out the TEMP directory; make sure FindFast is not in the Windows STARTUP folder (delete it!); and check refresh rate of the monitor.

Good luck!

Well...Today I went to the users system to look a little more closely...I had her put in a CD so we could duplicate the problem. Once the CD was recognized, Real Jukebox began playing by default. We opened a document and duplicated the problem. I had done work for her before and made a shortcut for the Win95 cd player. I un-installed the Real Jukebox and Real Player and she was not able to duplicate the problem again. In fact, she didn't have the problem occur again at all today. I'll be checking back with her early next week to see if its still working..i'm keeping my fingers crossed.
