O.K. this is a stupid one. Somehow, I hit a keyboard sequence that caused ALL of my pulldown menus and shortcuts to dissappear from the WORD2000 screen. All that is present is each scroll bar, and the name of the document.

How the heck to I get this stuff back. I even removed and reinstalled Office 2000. But it remembered my settings.

Any suggestions.

Bill

Sound like it is in full screen view, if you go to the top of the screen, does not the file edit etc. task bar show up ? uder edit there is full screen. or press ESC once the document is open.

(is this happening with all doc's or not all of them ?)

Prinand:

What I see on my screen is only the barest of WORD. No file menu is available without using keyboard controls. It is the same for every document, even those created previous to the problem. Right clicking on the border gets me the "close, minimize, restore" window.

Right clicking the body of the document gets the formatting window, "FONT, Paragraph, Bullets" etc..

Does that narrow it down?

THis might work...Normally....the settings of your bar is dependant upon a file called normal.dot....its the Documtent template that you get when you start a new Blank page....it also includes user settings.....if you can get your hands on a Normal.dot that is maybe in a different account or on the net....the vuala.....it is located in "Documents and settings/username/application data/microsoft/word/templates/" or somthing along those lines....(what i listed was OFfice xp...my install)......when you replace that file....you should have reset settings.....or maybe even delete that file...maybe it will default.....who knows

This should work,
Brandon
