Word2000 insufficient space/memory

An interesting thing. I have been trying to create a signature in Word for
use in Outlook. I am not allowed to open the e-mail options window as the
program tells me I have insufficient space/memory. When I tried this I had NO other windows open, no other programs running. It is still
like this. So...what should I do?any ideas
