Word Text Forms Fields 1

We use Word (97) documents created with text form fields so that users can TAB around a document, fill it in, and print it quickly. There is no problem as long as frames aren't used (text forms fields can't be inserted into text boxes so they aren't used)

The problem is that we have several Word (97) documents in which the user created frames (not text boxes) and put text form fields in the frame. After editing the form the TAB order is out of wack. When the document is protected, the user will tab, say from text form field 1 (in frame 1) to text form field three (in frame 3) and back to text form field (in frame 2), instead of from 1 to 2 to 3. Its easy to fix that in ACCESS but not in word. Just clearing the TAB stops does have any effect. If you try moving the frames around, it can get worse!

Any ideas???

Move the anchors for each frame so they are in the order that you want to tab.
For example:
Click on the frame that contains the first formfield and drag the anchor for the frame to a paragraph at the top of the page.
Click on the frame that contains the next formfield and drag the anchor for that frame to the same paragraph at the top of the page.
Repeat for each frame.

Thanks for responce. Unless I'm doing something wrong, it doesn't work. When you tab from a text form field in one frame to another, there are some that it skips (and comes back to. Maybe I don't understand?

When you click on a frame, can you see a little picture of an anchor next to a paragraph? I've found if I move these to the same paragraph, the sequence that I move them seems to govern the tab order.

If you want to email me an example I can have a quick look tonight.

There is only one anchor that appears next to one paragraph. Moving it seems to not help and perhaps make things worse. I have tried manually moving things around with no success. (can't EMAIL from this forum that I know of) Thanks very much for your time
