Word Templates-from network share to c drive

Aside from manually placing a template i created on each desktop's C: drive under the apps/data/templates directory can i automate this process??

"each desktop's c:\" - I take that means you want to make your templates available to users on a network. In that case, consider using a directory on you server, with read-access only for users, and have your users point the Workgroup Templates location to that directory (or ask your network admin to apply a policy, if you must).
This is a simple, very straightforward method. There are more "intelligent" ways, using e.g. add-ins, global templates, scripts etc. Perhaps someone more into this than I can help you with further suggestions.
