When i open WP 9, i get an error that states - cannot initialize. the program then closes and windows 2000 advises me that WPWIN9.EXE has created errors and will shut down. i have several licenced copies running on machines that dont have this problem. i have tried uninstalling the application, but the uninstaller seems to be corrupt. i have tried to manually delete the files and reinstall or repair the program to no avail. any ideas on what to do next?! thanks

Creat a new profile for the user - local profile on the Win2K machine, and see if WP9 will run under the other profile. See if it works better if you give the user Admin rights on the machine- this may help with the original profile also. I think it was SP4 for WP9 that eliminated the need for the user to be an Admin, but you had to do a complete install from CD to make this happen - it wasn't just applying a patch to an existing install.
If the local profile works, then login as administrator, delete the contents of the original profile directory, and copy in the contents of the local profile you created. Of course, be sure to move the documents and Favorites folders to a safe (neutral) location first!
