We have an Athlon machine 2200+ with an ATI driven 256mb video card, 2-60GB hard drives, DVR/RW, CDRW, 1.5GB Crucial Ram and when Word Perfect 11 opens a document with pictures in it and you try to move those pictures around it will go up to 100% usage and this can happen if you just SAVE the document, every time you save it, even if you haven't changed anything in the document. OS is Windows XP Pro. Its almost like it redraws everything when it saves.
It sometimes locks up the system, CTRL ALT DEL will allow you to shut the program down, but it is a no win situation trying to open the document again and work on it. The document is approximately 25MB in size...yes, you read it right, 25MB, but I would assume with a 60GB hard drive over half left and 1.5GB of ram should be able to handle this file with no problem. We have Word 2002 also, but Word Perfect actually allows you more flexibility with pictures without the pictures moving all over the place once the document is saved.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there anything I can do to alleviate this CPU usage problem?
Thanking you in advance for any light you can shed.
