Hi all,
I am usually over at the SQL part of the forumns but I have come across a problem with Word 2000 that Has me stumped.

When I do a File-Open and select a word file it opens up with a bunch of strange text in a column for almost a full page. As an Example, I made a document with the following line in it:

This is a test

I then saved it as a word doc as normal calling it test.doc

when I do File-open and browse to test.doc I get something like this:

This is a test
Normal
Default Paragraph Font
TALMCMAHON=C:\DocumentsandSettings\63mcmtal\Desktop\Thisisatest.doc
Times New Roman
Symbol
Arial
This is a test
TAL MCMAHON
TAL MCMAHON
This Is a test this
TAL MCMAHON
Normal.dot
TAL MCMAHON
Microsoft Word 9.0
Menasha Corporation
This is a test
Title
Root Entry
Table
Word Document
Summary Information
Document Summary Information
CompObj
ObjectPool
MicrosoftWordDocument
MSWordDoc
Word.Document.8

Now where it gets strange is that if I open the recent file test.doc I get the document in the correct way. I assume There is a switch that is flipped somewhere. I have "detect and Repaired" I have uninstalled and re-installed and I am using MSword 2000 SR 1

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Bassguy, stick to fishing. LOL

Anyway, hit File-Open, change the file type from Recover text from any file to Word document and you'll be in business. dreamboat@nni.com
