The college that I work for has been troubled by personal word macro written by students. To prevent future infection, i have created a macro called AutoExec with a line of code DisableAutoMacros. This stops any modifyication to the existing macro but there may be a time that useful macro is needed. I need to know how to enable the macro so that new macro can be executed.
Thanks!

DisableAutoMacros only disables AutoOpen, AutoExec, AutoClose and AutoSave. Other macros should run fine. Therefore, I think if you write any legit. macros in the future, you should only execute them from the tools/macro menu (don't use automacros) so you can leave your disabler in place.

P.S. Be careful, macro viruses can also harness FileOpen, FileSave etc which are not considered AutoMacros in some versions of Word.
