Word Label Mail Merge Repeating Records

I need to merge records in Word, 3 to a page, 8 1/2" x 3 2/3" for each record. When I try to do this as labels using a custom label setup I get 3 copies of record 1 on page 1, 3 copies of record 2 on page 2, etc. I have the <Next Record> field properly inserted into the document at the start of each new record. If I use a standard label layout everything works fine, but the custom layout doesn't. Unfortunately there's no standard layout that matches what I need for this print job. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

hi,

If you hit the Show/Hide button in the MERGE document, you'll see a { NEXTRECORD } or something like that on some. It needs to be on ALL form what you described. So COPY n PASTE on into each MERGE item as needed.
