Recently, Word has just started to take a long time (up to 1 minute) to open. If you try to open a document from a network share, it will only open Word to a gray screen and the document never actually opens.
Here is our setup: 6 Terminal Servers, combination of Windows 2000 and 2003. Citrix Metaframe XP. Office 2000.
I recently completely wiped out one of the Terminal Servers and installed nothing but Citrix and Office. I logged on and still, took word a long time to open. I don't think it is the network. Seems to be user specific. It happens to a majority of our users, but I have come across 1 or 2 that have no problem with Word.
I recently deleted my profile and started with a clean one, and still had the same problem. I went so far as to delete all my printers and uninstalled all the drivers from my test server. No luck.
I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem. FYI, all other Office programs open fast and with no problem. It seems to be specifically Word with specific users.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
