Hi

To macro or not to macro. I have been asked to develop a fairly simple template in MS Word 2000.

This template should feature a form which allows the user to insert a customer and an order number (fixed information), a counter start number (e.g. 302991) and the number of pages desired. For each printed page, the counter should increment by 1.

Now, I have made very few macros for MSWord, so I'm not sure which is the best approach to this. I would be grateful for any creative ideas

Kindly,
Bjoern Sandvik

Please clarify.

"Number of pages desired"? Number of pages desired...where? In the document? Number of pages desired for a print job from another document?
a counter start number (e.g. 302991) and the number of pages desired. For each printed page, the counter should increment by 1.

for each printed page the counter increases?

Do you mean printed from that document?

I am trying to grasp the details here.

I mean, it could be as simple as a formfield the user enters "the number of pages" desired, and that is added to the starting number. I am not getting the process that the counter has to increase by 1 for each page.

They "desire" 14 pages...of WHAT I am unclear, but could the counter not just be increased by 14? Why by 1 for each page? Is the printing part of the process?

A few more details on exactly what you want to happen would help.

Hi Gerry

Thanks for elaborating. The solution is in tf1's second link referring to "Sequentially numbering multiple copies of single document using a macro"

Problem solved.

Thanks to the both of you!
