Word - Header Footer drop down menu empty

When i go into Word (2000) and click View - Header/Footer - and then click on the Insert Auto Text - the drop down box is empty. It no longer has the PAGE number ,Date etc...

Is there a fix for this or should i just rename Normal.dot?

When you go to Header/Footer check to see what Style is being used for the H/F. If Autotext does not have entries matching your H/F style then you may not see Autotext entries.

I assume you have made sure that the Autotext list does appear in the main doucment.
