Word Hangs when opening File

A user of mine has a particular Word File that is roughly 190 pages long. Everytime she tries to open it, it locks the Computer up. I figured OK not enough resources on that PC, tried opening on 2 different machines with the same results. Sometmes it will stay open long enough to save pieces of it to another file name , but this is getting her very frustrated. I am a network person and do not know all that much on Word, other than installs!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Okay, network person. Best ideas I've got:

1. Open, immediately save as RTF file, close, reopen.

2. Find someone with WordPerfect and have them open the file, save it, then resave it to Word.

3. Email it to me, I'll keep it confidential.
