Word File becomes Read-Only on it's own, but

properties do not show it as a Read Only file. It's a Microsoft Word file from the Office XP Suite Package. I check the properties to verify that it is indeed NOT a Read Only file and when you open it up, it automatically opens as a Read Only. When you go to Delete the file or Rename it, it gives you a sharing violation error, and there is No one in it. Any ideas?

I have seen this before it happens when the file is not closed properly like a machine crash or CTL+ALT+DEL. If you shut down the machine that has the file located on it should reset the file
