I have a user who has the problem that is she opens a word document from the "view as web page" screen it opens in office but she cannot save the document as anything other then as a web page. She can however download the document to desktop then open and save it as normal. Other users can click open ant it opens in Word correctly. Currently this problem has only been reported with one user but as we will be soon ramping up to a much larger user base it might come up more and I would like to get this fixed with a solution that is faster then re-imaging the computer. I am posting this in this form instead of the office form because this occurs only when opening documents from Livelink

Thanks in advance

can you test it on other machines and report back ? would need to know if the same / different users have the issue or not on other machines.

Other users are not having this problem, also if someone else logs into her computer they do not experience the same problem I have also recreated her profile on that computer with no effect. Also I have read some information about a similar problem occurring with IE 5 service pack 1 so I should mention she is using IE 6.

what happens if she logs onto another machine, does she get the same error ? have you tried her being logged into the machine and then someone else logging into Livelink and vice versa ?

Unfortunately I am supporting her remotely and have not been able to get her onto another computer as soon as I can I will have her try one, I have however logged into her computer and did not have any trouble. Which is why I recreated her Windows profile, to no effect. My next move has been to recreate her Livelink account, but as she had to go to a meeting I have not been able to test that out. Also I have looked over her access rights and she has not only view right but edit and delete right on all the documents I have tested. One more thing accounts here are linked to active directory with automatic log in so I could not log into her local machine account then log in as my self or the other way around.

Thank you for the ideas so far.

IF you are using SSO then you should have an anonymous port set up on your webservers (usually 263) to allow the Admin user to access the servers, you should be able to use the same port to login as a different user as it will bring up the standard LL login page.

I have solved the issue by removing the users account then recreating it in the same way as it was before and now it works for her. I don’t like that solution, as there was no differences in the account creating method and no permissions that would cause this problem. However as I have not been able to recreate it and no one else has complained about this issue I fo0rced to scratch my head and close the issue. Thank you for you help.
