A user runs a report to Microsoft Word format and when the user attempts to view the document and it opens up in a viewer and not in Microsoft Word. She is running Windows NT. How can the user get the document to open up in Word?

How is the user specifying WORD format..Is WORD properly installed on the Client PC? ( i.e. Is the .doc extension recognized?)

Regarding the format in which the report appears in Crystal Enterprise, there's a Windows Explorer setting that determines whether the report opens in HTML or Word.

Check out the following article from Crystal Decisions:

The article is specific to Excel, but the issue is probably the same.

That solution that you sent is for Windows 2000 only. This is an NT machine and the same folder options are not available in Windows Explorer. There must be a way to force the document to open up in Word for a user on Windows NT.
