Word Doc not opening

We have an intranet web page that links to a network folder with a bunch of Word Documents. Everyone is able to click one of the files and IE will display the Word Doc in the frame. However, there is a user that will only get an image placeholder. If he goes back and clicks the link and repeats 3-4 times the word doc eventually appears.

Anyone have any idea whats causing this. Tried to reset all of his options and even reinstalled IE6. No success, so far.

I seen the same sort of problem happen but it is worse in my situation. I have IE6 running on a w2k platform and everytime I try to open a word document it creates an error and causes the browser to close. I tried unistalling IE6 but that caused more problems with outlook express 6 and I couldn't recieve emails in outlook for a day. I havent figured out the problem with this yet but I am looking and I will update you when I do.
