Word deleting text

This is reposted from the Office forum. I'm pretty sure that it isn't a virus/malware, just would like to know if anyone here has seen something like this. Not much response from the Office forum, which I suppose means they haven't seen this.

I have a customer who is convinced that Word will sometimes delete all the text from his doc. As he is getting on a bit, I assumed it was just finger trouble.
Then today another guy reported the exact same problem. He opened a doc for printing and said the cursor went down the page until all was blank and then saved it.

I checked his pc for virii/spyware all ok.
Any other ideas? Both pc's are pretty new dells.

It could be a macro? Check to see if they have any macro's loaded in word. Check their default language and spell checker/grammer options.
