Hi All, I know I'm rehashing an old subject of mine....but
Can someone please point me in the right direction to an applescript (OS9.1/ID 2) which will give me a word count of the entire document.
The script that I downloaded from the Adobe website doesn't work (I'm guessing it's because it was made for ID1.
Anyway I tried to make it work (but my appleacript knowledge is minimal at best)
Any ideas would be greatfull

Marcus,

Check the InDesign Scripting forum on the Adobe User to User forums. Someone up there is bound to have a word count script for ID2. ID CS has a built in function for this.

Thanks AdobeTim,

The answer was so obvious (why didn't I think of it??)

For anyone who needs to know...Do a find for spaces and replace with the same space, once that is done it will tell you how many time it has done it, which is pretty much the amount of words in the document.
Keeping in mind you may have to do it a few times if you have many text frames.
