Word as Blob

Is there a way to import a Wordfile which is in a blob field in the db? And if it is how can i display all of the pages of this file. Cause it doesn't work if i import a normal word file either.. It only shows the first page..

I'm using an Oracle 9i DB an Crystal reports X and word 2002.

If i try to drag the blob field into my report it is blank and shows nothing...

A word document can be linked by inserting an OLEDB object, but it is fixed in the report.

If you want text relating to specific records, use our cViewTEXT utility. It can retreive a text file and display it in multiple pages. The file has to be text, Rich text or html and will display with formating if you select those options.

Is that the sort of thing you want to do.

Yes but my problem is that i don't have text only - there are also diagrams and pictures in the doc files....

but i found a way to split the file into several pages and to store each page as jpg in the database... Its not very beautiful but it works

but thx anyway...

I have another utility that processes image files as well. It operates in a similar way to the text file utility.
