A long time ago, I was deprived of professional design software and worked in mirosoft publisher (ewww) Anyway, the ONLY thing I liked about publisher was Word Art. For example, if you wanted to wrap text around a circle, word art would also distort the type and curve the letters as well. In Illustrator, is there a way you can type along a curve and actually make the letters curve as well?

Well of course you can just create a curve and type on it using the Type on a path tool, but what I think you are after is this:

Just create some normal text, select it and go to Effect>Warp and choose one of the styles in there. They are similar to some of the Word Art effects.

Warp must be post Illustrator 9.0.1. I don't have it.
