What would cause this?? I sent my laptop off for repair and since I got it back it take 3 - 5 min. to open a file. The program open fine, but when you click on "File" "Open" it a few min to open.

Check that there are no inaccessible or dead mapped drives set in Explorer.

Check that the printer driver and printer can be seen.

There are no inaccessible or dead mapped drives. And all printers can be seen.

try doing a defrag. Also run Chkdsk c: and see if it finds any problems.

Check for Nimda virus ,or replace Riched20.dll and see what happens.

Me transmitte sursum, Caledoni!

I replaced the file and run a virus scan, and neither one helps.

We had this issue after we upgraded (and changed the name of) or data server. Even though we had no inaccessible drives in Explorer, the "retired" server was still listed in the registry. I searched for and deleted all references (probably overkill) of the old server in the registry and this fixed our "slowness" issue.

I have removed all network drives from the pc with no luck.

Thanks for all your suggestions, but I have fixed the problem. Just so you all know I run "Adaware" on it and it has seemed to have fixed the problem.
