Word 97 Thesaurus not functioning

I have a user that is getting no choices when using the Thesaurus. The Thesaurus is available but seems to be empty. I have done the re-install thing, yada yada yada with no luck.
Spell check does work.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If it ain't broken, play with it till it breaks.
