Word 97 Templates

I created a new folder in the templates called General (silly me!) now, every time I go into word and click New, there is another general tab. So far I have 12 of them and they all contain blank documents. I look in the templates folder but can only see one General tab. What do I do to get rid of these constantly generating Template tabs?

I haven't tried it, but you could change your templates folder (Tools/Options/etc). Obviously copying the templates you want into the new folder.

This isn't a problem I've ever encountered. So, good luck

They are under the folder 1033 in your file system, I think. If not, let me know and we'll find it.

Nope can't find 1033 the machine it is running on is windows 95. I just can't understand it. In the templates folder of Microsoft Office there is only one folder called General but on the tabs there are loads of them!
