Is there any way to include page breaks without affecting the automatic Table of Contents in Word 97? Inserting page breaks causes errors in the page numbering displayed in the TOC. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if your problem is that the page breaks before your headers are being included in your TOC the way around the problem is ---

when you Insert> Page Break you should select the Section option box then format the text to Header x

If you already have a (seemingly) corrupt TOC then you need to reformat the Heading style(s) to, say, normal - remove the page break and (at the begining of the offending text) insert a page break (section) and then reformat the text to Heading x

update the TOC and all should be fine.
cheers
m
