During installation of AOL, a friend of mine got the error: "AOL has encountered an error" halfway through the install and then it disappeared. She finds that she
can access e-mail through AOL, but the error message re-occurs when
accessing the 'Net.
So, what does this have to do with Office 97. Well, the most confounding thing is that Word 97 (SBE) and the entire Office 97 SBE act strangely or won't work since the install.
When she tries to load Word she gets the following:
"not enough memory and/or disk space"
Excel will run, but OLE and copy/paste are inoperable and error
messages to that effect are provided before she can get in to use it.
The following steps have been taken:
* AOL has been uninstalled and re-installed from a different disk to
no avail.
* Attempts to uninstall or re-install Word from the SBE disk result
in "Install not completed successfully"
Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.
