Whenever Word 97 is opened, one of my users get a message that reads -

Compile error in hidden model. AutoExec

Then either click Ok or Cancel

Never fails to happen, and clueless as to how to resolve it. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated!

Now all of the sudden it wants to cooperate and it did work. We removed a file found in his startup folder and it resolved the issue. We did that earlier and it didn't do anything. Maybe it has a mind of its own. Thanks for the tip.

Ok.

Where is normal.dot? (Tools-Options, File locations tab, User templates) Did you delete the normal.dot from that location?

Path to Startup folder? (Same method)
And you looked in there for files?

In Windows Explorer, do you have it set to SHOW hidden files? You may need to do that. (Tools-Folder options, uncheck all *hide* options) Anne Troy
