Word 95 underscore on screen

Has anyone experienced this problem?
At 11pt Univers and 100% view the underscore character does not show on screen although it does print.
Help appreciated

I've never used this font but I vaguely remember seeing somewhere that it was used extensively with WordPerfect (that it was the default san serif font at some stage). Maybe you could have a look at Tools - Options - Compatibility tab?
