I'm trying to determine why the drop down field won't work
in a template I'm creating. My interpretation of a drop
down field is that you have several options the user can
select from in a drop down box. I'm only getting a greyed
out box and the first list item in the selections I've
entered is the default. The only way to change it is to
go into properties and change the order of the selections.

Any help someone can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Kathi

The link does not appear to be valid any longer. Are there any other references that could address this issue? I'm unfamiliar with the properties manipulation for these fields and would love to find an on-line reference in plain english.

Thanks!

Word 2000: 1. From the forms toolbar, click the Form Field Options button. 2. From the Form Field Options dialog box, under Drop Down Item: box, type your first entry and then click on the ADD button. Your entry will be displayed in the Items in Drop down list box on the right. 3. Once you lock your template (From the Forms toolbar, click on the lock button), the drop-down entries will be available by clicking on the down arrow at right entries for user selection. Hope this helps!
