Word 2010 closes when second document opened

I have just noticed this behavior recently. I have a document open, when I open a second document (File, Open or File, Recent), Word closes. Opening Word again does not show any documents to be restored. Re-booting the computer did not change any thine.

Have you tried repairing the Office installation (via Programs & Features > Microsoft Office > Change in the Windows Control Panel)?

Just tried the repair, still has the same issue (Windows XP Professional SP 3).

I found a Microsoft web site that walks thru registry deletes (ones that Word recreates when opened) and finally when I got rid of some add-ins Word started working correctly. I suspect it was Live Office, but I do not know for sure. I do need Live Office for Word, so I am not going to re-install Live Office on Word.
