Word 2007 very slow when switching panes 1

I have a new installation of Office 2007 and I have a strange problem in Word 2007.

When Word loads it looks like the blue XP layout then switches to the pale blue Office. When I open a document it also switches to the dark blue XP with the rest of the window white for about 10 secs and then opens normally. the same hapens with each doc I open. If I switch beteen docs the same thing happens so to switch form doc 1 to doc 2, copy text and go back to doc 1 takes about a minute.

Each time this happen the hour glass is showing.

It does not happen in Excel

Any ideas anyone?

Sounds to me like you have Vista and Aero Glass is bombing out when you open Word?

I suggest updating your graphics driver and printer driver and see if that resolves the issue.

For diagnostic purposes, please test Word in Safe Mode. From Start, Run, type in

winword /a

and press enter. Open 2 documents now and Tab between the documents. Is it still slow?

This suggests either a third party add-in is conflicting with Word or the printer driver is incompatible. But I suspect the former.

I had a COM add in for Xpert PDF. deleting it solved the problem.
