Hi Guys:

I have been working on this for quite some time without success. I have created a form and placed an activeX text box in the cell of the table. I have also tried several different types of text boxes and methods with no success. Is there a simple way to stop text from going past the end of the cell border?

Currently when the user types in the cell and the text reaches the bottom border, the next carriage return moves the text past the border and it simply disappears from view.

Meaning it doesn't go to the next cell, you simply cant see it. If you Hit the delete key, the hidden text will come back to the top and is visible as it is being deleted.

Hi,

You have two things going on here.

1. You have a TABLE, that, if you were entering data into a cell, could be formatted to ADJUST.

2. You have a CONTROL (Textbox of some sort) in a CELL of the TABLE.

Did you try using a FORM FIELD TEXTBOX? It expands the TABLE row size.

Hi Skip thanks for your quick reply:

I am hoping to have the text stopped at the bottom, without sizing the cell or having the text go beyond the bottom border. Meaning if the user suddenly discovers they cannot type in any more text - that ok. But also I tried with just the table cell as first , but I didn't see any adjustments, did I miss something. Please elaborate.

"if the user suddenly discovers they cannot type in any more text - that ok"

How are the RESULTS any different?

Skip, are you are being Excel-centric again?

"1. You have a TABLE, that, if you were entering data into a cell, could be formatted to ADJUST."

incron, is there a reason for putting any sort of textbox in the cell?

"Currently when the user types in the cell and the text reaches the bottom border"

Do you actually mean the user types in the textbox, not the cell?

yes that's what I meant - the bottom of the text box. Even though I tried using just the cell but that didn't work either. I'm new to word 2007.
