I'm having trouble with bullets in Word 2007. The initial bullets and subsequent bullets at the first level work just fine. However, if I hit enter and a new bullet is created at the first level, when I hit the tab key, the cursor simply tabs to the right but the second level bullet is not created (the first level bullet stays where it was). I can change the level of the bullet manually, but the Tab and Shift-Tab do not appear to work properly.

I have tried all of the solutions that I have found that talk about AutoCorrect options with no improvement. This occurs on both native and compatibility mode files -- new and old.

If I switch the view to outline view, the bullets change when I hit tab (solid to open, to square, to solid, etc.) but they stay at the first tab stop (left margin) as does the cursor.

Hi,
I don't have MSW07 open in front of me, but I think you can use the Decrease Indent icon in the Paragraph group on the Home tab to effect the indent which includes the bullet. I hope this is correct...:)

I'm still having the same issue with this. In other versions, it works properly out of the box. I can't figure out what I might have changed to cause this behavior.

Office button; Word Options; Proofing; AutoCorrect Options; AutoFormat As You Type tab; check the "Set left-
and first-indent with tabs and backspaces"
