The default Task Pane is a verticle bar along the right hand side of the screen. Somehow I clicked on something that changed it to a horizontal bar across the top of the screen. How do I change it back?
Thanks.

I think all you gotta do is click and drag it to the desired location. If it doesn't drag at first attempt, click a different spot on it - you usually have to just find an empty location on a task pane/bar to do that - Windows, Office, Internet Explorer, others..

If you can't find a way to click and drag, then right-click on the task pane, and see if you have an option for lock/unlock. If you do, unlock it, then drag it... then lock it again so you don't do the same later.

Otherwise, if that doesn't work, there may be a docking location option. Right-click on the task pane, and see if there is an option there. If not, try under View - Toolbars, or other view options..

I can't remember for absolute certain which it is with Word 2003, and I don't have it in front of me to test with.
