I have a document created in Office 2003 SP3. When anyone running Office 2003 with or without SP3, the checkboxes in the document either print as the Euro currency symbol or as a blank space. Now, if someone running Office 2010 tries printing the same document, it prints fine. This issue is happening to multiple users printing to multiple printers. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

There is a Microsoft font called Marlett, which supplies a set of scalable font images for such objects as checkboxes, buttons and other window symbols. It arrived with Windows 95.

It used to cause problems such as you describe when systems were running short of memory.

Check that this is properly installed, and available across your system. Windows 7 (Vista, Sever2008 too?) have subtly altered the fonts folder, so that the font files are not visible in Explorer, only via the font viewer. Whether this has any bearing on your problem, I don't know.

I would make sure that the latest (and correct version of) printer drivers are installed for everyone.
