I created a PDF from our grading program
I then did save -as in Adove Acrobot x and made a word doc.
so I have a 10 page word doc and the top of every page has teh stuents name and grades
like
Sam Smith

Math A+
Reading C-
Science B
History A

at the bottom is a are for comments and other stuff
and a Parents signature. This is in a second Word doc.
Currently I Copy and Paste the comments at the bottom of every page

Is there a way to merge the comments to the bottom of every page?
Or merge the grades to the top of some doc.
TIA

More details required.

All the comments are in a separate document?
Are the students separated by a section break? Or a hard page break?

These are two distinct things. What do you want to do?

Please give us clearer - precise - information. How many documents are there? It suggests at first there are only two documents, but then it infers there may be many more docs.

What you could do is to turn the various entries into paragraphs, with the student's name first. You could then turn the data into a table, sort the table and then turn it back into text.

Depending on how you've got the data set up, this might be more work that cut-and-paste.

Split Screen can be useful for cut-and-paste.

fumei;
yes the comments are a one page separate document.
I don't care which way I do it.
Maybe it would work better with a mail-merge if the comments doc was the main doc and the merged data the 10 page student names. so when it merged it became a 10 page doc with student names at the top and comments or say the body of the letter.
like doing a normal mail merge.
Seems word 2003 dose not allow merrging data from a word doc but only excel, access and other db types.

Why could'nt I just paste the comments in the footer of the document and then it would show up at the bottom of every page?

A footer is constant, at least for a section. I don't know of any way to include variable data.

I do realize that. now that you mention section, can I add something in a section that is the same on every page like a header and footer except that it is the middle of the page not at the extreme bottom or top.
like adding a text box but have it in the middle and repeat on every page.
