Word 2003: How to import formatting from 1 doc into another

Title says it all.

I have doc 1 and doc 2.

I want to import / apply the formatting of doc 1 to doc 2.

How can I do this?

How about saving doc1 as a template (doc1.dot) and applying the template to doc2? (See help for "Attach a different template to the active document")

Have you already tried Insert > File? If doc2 has section breaks, see

Better yet....use Styles for each of them. This problem is the reason for using Styles.
