I have a client who is in the process of migrating from Office 97 to Office 2003. In some cases it appears the user's normal.dot files are being replaced by a default one from somewhere. Two questions....
1 - Which file is it using as the default one it is copying in? The only possible source i can find it the one from the administrator profile (there is not one in %windir% or all users).
2 - Short of deleting / renaming the source file does anyone know a way of preventing this behaviour so Word is forced to migrate the existing normal.dot rather than replace it?
The annoying bit it that some of the user's normal.dots are migrated so i can only think it is something in the files that is not "migratable" which means they get overwritten.
Any thoughts on the subject will be happily received as migrations from Office 97 to 2003 in a Citrix PS3.0 environment are not well documented by MS or anyone (suprise suprise!!!!)
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
