WORD 2003 compare and merge Not displaying differencesing

My Word 2003 compare and merge doesn't highlight the difference between both documents. Is it corrupted? Or is there a feature I need to switch on... My other desktop does not have a problem with the compare and merge feature. BTW, updates are current as security...(still XP)....thanks very much

Have you tried running Office diagnostics, or else a repair install of Office? Otherwise, what else have you tried to resolve the issue? Anything? Where are you now? Any progress?
