Word 2002 won't open documents

Have Office XP on Windows XP and just installed Office SP2 and WinXP SP1. Now Word will not open document files (all were generated in Word 2000), just crashing and offering to send a message to Microsoft to report the problem. Worked fine before SP2.

Help!! Nothing on the MS knowledge base....

Can you open them up on another computer with word2000, then save as a different format?

Hi Neil - thanks for this workaround idea, I'll try it. Problem is I have hundreds of documents that won't open with Word 2002!
