Word 2002 text disappearing

We have a couple of machines running W2K Pro with Office XP Pro installed, the problem consists on when we scroll down through a word document using the arrow keys, some of the text disappears. Any idea what the problem is?

do u get the disappeared text back after sometime or it remains parmanently disappeared? if u get the text back after sometime then the problem is with your memory. you need to upgrade memory and remove *.tmp files from your system.

Had a similar problem to this on a workstation but it was running Office 2000 on Windows 2000. It was actually detected by our virus scanning sw in the end as being a problem with some sw recently installed and it said it was infected with W32/wdialup.adware. Cannot actually see this virus name detailled on any av site but after cleaning the files Word is now all ok.
