I am working with a 100+ page document using about 15 files linked through a master document. The pages consist of paragraph headings bolded and centered followed by text. I created a style for both headings and text. The text style is a simple left justified, times roman 12 font and tab settings. I have redone the complete document numerous times due to Word thinking it can read my mind. Problems encountered- Each time I apply the text style it creates a new style ususally changing the font to courier. Each time the document is expanded the styles change in each document. When the document is collapsed additional changes are made and all of the tab stops are scrambled. The text suddenly becomes bolded though the bold button is not depressed. I have found no way to change the font back to normal short of closing the document without saving then reopen. Can anyone help?
