I started to design a form in Word 2000, using ActiveX textboxes, I then changed my mind and decided to go with standard Word formFields.

In design mode, I went through the document and deleted the ActiveX text boxes, and inserted my formfields.

I kept one ActiveX textbox, for Enduser notes.

Now upon entry of the document I get this error,

Can't exit design mode because Control 'ExecOfficerNotes' cannot be created.

Before the revamp ExecOfficerNotes was the name of the ActiveX Textbox, but in the revamp process the name was changed.

Help I need these forms.

As a first step try to see if you have a file with a TWD extension somewhere on your system. Either delete it or rename it. Word needs to be closed for this file to be deleted.

Start Word again and open your document.

Please post what you find.
