Word 2000 template problem

I opened a document in Word 2000 and then saved it as a template file. But when I bring back the template file to use, the fields can still be moved all over the document. I thought a template "fixed" or "Locked in" these fields as in a report boilerplate document so that all you had to do was tab from one field to the next.

Wonder what am I doing wrong in my template file to cause this. I followed the directions in the help file too.

You need to protect the form (on the forms toolbar) to allow form field entry as you describe. Creating a template just allows you to easily create documents based on the template. If the form is unprotected on the template, it will remain so on future documents.
