Word 2000 Mail Merge Showing ????

Hi all,
I am trying to do a mailmerge in office 2000 from an excel spread sheet that contains the list of addresses.
Some addresses in the excel sheet are in say the russian language. eg: "?????????? ???????, ?.??????"
Excel shows the address no probs but when I do a mailmerge in word the adress looks like ???????? 13. ?? 189

Mail merge doesn't fail and gives no errors

When I do this in word 2003 it works perfect?

Any ideas?

Hi Ray,

This is a known problem with data files containing unicode characters. See:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/250322

It should work OK if you copy your data to a Word table and use that as your data source.
