In Word '97 you could click the "File" Menu then "Open"
And at the bottom of the Open dialog box was a section that allowed you to key in TEXT to search for Inside a document on the hard drive. Like “John Smith” or something. Word 2000 does not have it there anymore. Is it moved to somewhere else or is it gone altogether????

Go into startup menu and run the "find files/folders" click the option to search for text and change your starting folder to "My Documents" or whereever you want to search from.

Yes I did know that.

So is it gone from Word 2000???
If so I'll show him the Explorer Search or Find or ... DougP, MCP
