We used to run Word Perfect and then switched over to Office 2000. We have one specific read-only file that contains tables that when printed prints out the boxes perfectly except on one PC. I've compared the options and the fonts with other machines that the file prints out correctly on and everything matches. Any ideas?

have you checked the print driver on the machine that is not printing correctly. I find that some people have changed the settings on the drivers which creates problems when printing.

Everything looks the same on the drivers? Is there anything else or is this just a fluke?

What exactly is happening. The border lines don't print right or what? Are the lines not lining up, are they printing lighter or darker?

There are multiple tables in this document. It was created as sort of a check list for doctors to check certain criteria. It is a basic table with procedures on the left most column and criteria across the top row. In each cell of a procedure and a criteria is a inserted symbol. As far as I can tell this inserted symbol (a small box) was inserted by choosing Insert from the toolbar and then Symbol. It is this small square within the cell that is not printing for this one individual. It shows up in the print preview, but not on the hard copy.

Can you delete the symbol and reinsert it on that particular machine?

Are there any other options? There are close to 200 squares that would need to be replaced.

Sometimes, when one PC doesn't have the font that a doc was created in, you get rectangular-shaped, checkbox-looking symbols.

I would select the table column. Hit the delete key so that it deletes the cell contents but not the column. Then (with column still selected) hit Format-Bullets and numbering, select a checkbox-type bullet (beware of rectangular-looking squares!) and then set the width from the bullet to the text to be about .1 or other very small measurement. If checkboxes appear in cells that don't need them, click inside that cell and hit the bullet button on the toolbar to turn the bullet off in that cell. Of course, you can select more than one cell at a time to do this, as long as they're consecutive.
